Train London to Ashford


Ashford International railway station serves Ashford in Kent, England. Services are provided by Southeastern, Southern and Eurostar International services use platforms 3 & 4, whilst domestic trains use the original platforms 1 & 2, and a new island (platforms 5 & 6) built when the Channel Tunnel opened. While all tracks are electrified with 750 V DC third rails, platforms 3-6 are also electrified with 25 kV 50 HzAC overhead lines. International services started on 8 January 1996. Before the completion of High Speed 1in November 2007, twelve Eurostar trains a day called heading to Paris (7 trains) or Brussels (5). However this number was reduced because of the opening of Ebbs fleet station to 3 trains to Paris and a daily service to Disneyland Paris. A direct train for Brussels was reinstated in 2009. It is not permitted to use Eurostar services for domestic journeys to and from London; however, a high-speed domestic service operated by Southeastern to London St Pancras began on 29 June 2009. Since 13 December 2009 the off-peak service is:


  • 2tph (trains per hour) to London St Pancras
  • 2tph to London Charring Cross, via Seven oaks
  • 2tph to London Victoria via Maid stone Ease
  • 3tph to Dover Priory of which one continues to Rams gate
  • 3tph to Canterbury West, of which two continue to Rams gate and one of those continues to Margate
  • 1tph to Brighton via the Marsh link Line

Since 13 December 2009 every weekday there have been four Eurostar services to Paris, one to Brussels. And one to Marne lee vallee for Disneyland Paris calling at Lille with a similar number arriving from the mainland. It is not permitted to use Eurostar services for domestic journeys. Eurostar, the high-speed train service that links the UK with France and Belgium, is today celebrating 10 years of service to and from Ashford International.

More than 2 million travelers have boarded the Eurostar, in each direction, using Ashford International for quick and convenient journeys to and from France, Belgium and beyond. Lille is just 55 minutes away; Brussels under 1h 40m away and Paris under 2 hours. Eurostar, which currently has around 25 trains a day stopping at Ashford International, has contributed to a boost for the local economy. Hundreds of French businesses now operate in Kent and local property prices have benefited from having a high-speed rail link to and from the rest of Europe. Ashford is one of the stations of train London to Paris. Ashford International can hold up to 800 travelers and has a car park with capacity for up to 2000 vehicles.
