Train London to Ebbsfleet

Ebbsfleet International Station" was the name originally proposed for the station, but "Dart ford International Station" was later proposed at the urging of Eurostar, who felt that Dart ford was a name with greater national recognition. Opposition to Eurostar's Dart ford International proposal came from Grave sham Borough Council, whose administrative centre at Gravesend is just two miles away; South fleet Parish Council; and Swanscombe and Greenhithe Town Council, both in the Borough of Dartford.The similarity of its name to that of Dart ford railway station, 6 miles away, was also of concern. Daily there are six (seven on Fridays) Eurostar services to Par, and three to Brussels, and the same number arriving from the continent. It is not permitted to use Eurostar services for domestic journeys.

On 29 June 2009 Southeastern started a weekday preview service between London St Pancras and Ebbsfleet International, extending to Ashford International during peak hours. On 7 September the service was enhanced with a few services to Rams gate via Canterbury Weston Dover. A regular service commenced on 13 December 2009. The typical off-peak service is:

  • 4 trains per hour to St Pancras International, taking 17 minutes;
  • 2 trains per hour to Faversham
  • 1 train per hour to Margate via Ashford International and Canterbury West,
  • 1 train per hour to Dover Priory via Ashford International.

Eurostar, the high-speed  passenger train service  linking the UK with France and Belgium, has today planted Ebbsfleet International on the map, unveiling a major new station that will offer easy access to continental Europe for more than 10 million potential travelers across southern England. Ebbsfleet is one of the stations of train London to Paris.

Ebbsfleet International station is strategically located near Dart ford in Kent, close to Junction 2 of the M25 and the M20, M2 and A2 routes and Blue water shopping centre. Eurostar expects to announce the exact date for the launch of services from St Pancras and Ebbsfleet International later this year. Detailed research shows that Ebbsfleet International has become the most popular intermediate stop since the autumn 2007…and will go on and on..!!!
